About The Department

The Department of Commerce offers B.Com (Hons.) at the undergraduate level along with M.Com at the postgraduate level. The Department boasts of a highly experienced faculty who ensure a smooth and vibrant teaching-learning experience for the students enrolled. The classrooms are air conditioned and IT-enabled including audio systems. In addition, access to a centralized computer lab, a college library and other state of the art infrastructure facilities are the added benefits. The library has a vast collection of books and journals, on-line and offline, catering to different areas of specialization in commerce and business.

The Department was able to navigate through pandemic times by going fully online and ensured that no student was left behind in learning. The lab practicals were done smoothly and library and knowledge databases were made available online. The Department also takes into account the mental well-being of the students and makes sure that there is a healthy and conducive environment for all. Apart from the curricular activities, the students are constantly exposed to various interactive webinars / seminars with industry experts and leaders enabling them to correlate the knowledge gained with the real world scenarios.

The graduates of the department have been successfully recruited by reputed companies and lately there has been an exponential increase in the number of students recruited. Besides that many of our graduates choose to pursue other professional programs such as CA, CS, MBA, Actuarial Science and Law both in India and abroad. The start-up culture is also gaining ground. Some students even have built their own startups. We are proud to have brilliant young minds handling all activities. We at Hindu, constantly strive to make this place diverse and inclusive. Our Department is elated to have its Alumni occupying prestigious positions in the corporate as well as public sectors.

The Department also organises an annual festival called Zeitgeist, and its society named ‘KAIZEN’ is well connected with their alumni through regular Alumni Meets and interactive sessions. A link to the events organised by the Department is provided.
