About The Department

The Mathematics Department of Hindu College is considered one of the best departments in the University of Delhi for studying Mathematics at the undergraduate level. It boasts of a highly accomplished and committed faculty, a vibrant environment for innovations and the excellent performance record of its students.  The Department attracts some of the brightest students from all across the country.

We have a highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty. Renowned mathematicians of national and international repute like Prof. P.C. Jain, Prof. J.N. Kapoor, Prof. J.M. Kapoor, Prof. K.C. Gupta, Prof. A.I. Singh, Dr. K.P. Chinda, Dr. J.K. Kohli and Dr. S.B. Malik have been a part of the Department’s glorious past.

The Mathematics Society of Department, “ACUITY” is one of the most vibrant societies of the college. Its flagship event, named Alpha, is conducted every year with great success. Its annual publication, ‘Annulus’ is highly awaited by Maths enthusiasts and educationalists alike. The 23rd Edition of ‘Annulus’ was especially dedicated to all the women Mathematicians across the globe and women Mathematics professors. 

The department has also successfully organised value added courses in collaboration with IIT Delhi PMRF Scheme, under the supervision of our faculty, titled  ‘MACHINE LEARNING FOR BEGINNERS USING PYTHON’.
