Dr. Anirudh Kumar Prasad

Dr. Anirudh Kumar Prasad started his teaching career at Hindu College, University of Delhi in the year 1998. An alumnus of Delhi public School, Mathura Road Dr. Prasad graduated from Gorakhpur University (UP) in 1989. After graduating in Political Science, Dr. Prasad came back to Delhi again to join Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) New Delhi to do master in Political Science. After finishing M. A. and M. Phil from JNU, he joined Hindu College. Taking a break from teaching, Dr. Prasad joined Department of Political Science, Panjab University Chandigarh to pursue his Doctorate of Philosophy. He was conferred PhD by the Panjab University, Chandigarh in 2015 for his thesis titled “Towards an Understanding of Kashmir Problem: A Political Economy Perspective” under the supervision of Prof. Ashutosh Kumar.

Dr. Prasad has been teaching Comparative Government & Politics to the Political Science Honours students since he joined the College in 1998. He has also taught diverse papers like Political Theory, Democracy and Governance in India, Citizenship & Globalizing world and Human Rights, Gender and Environment to the students of other subjects. He has also published a paper on “Land Reforms in Jammu and Kashmir” in Economic and Political Weekly (EPW) journal. While pursuing his PhD at Panjab University, Dr. Prasad actively participated in all seminars organised by the Political Science department. In one such seminar, he also presented a paper entitled “Sheikh Abdullah and Special Status for Jammu and Kashmir”. He also served as the warden of the Hindu College Hostel from 2003 to 2006.
