Dr. Geetika Bhalla

AREA OF SPECIALIZATION

Theoretical polymer Chemistry with special reference to electrically conducting polymer and their co-polymers.

Dr.Geetika Bhalla is Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Hindu College, University of Delhi since 2006. A graduate in Chemistry (Hons) from St.Stephen’s College, DU in 1999, she received her MSc in Chemistry (2001) and PhD (2004) from Department of Chemistry, Delhi University.

Her doctoral thesis studies the “Electronic Structures and Conduction Properties of Low Band-gap Donor-Acceptor Polymers and their Co-polymers.’’

She currently teaches Physical Chemistry to the undergraduate students in Hindu College, where her interest areas include fundamental concept of Physical Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Chemical Kinetics and Thermodynamics. She has published several papers in reputed international and national journals.  She has also delivered  video lectures on Chemical Kinetics and Quantum Chemistry in Project Udaan, launched by Prime Minister, Sh. Narender Modiji, conducted by CBSE. She has developed co-curriculum for ‘CBSE’ for classes XI and XII and edited Chapter on ‘Chemical Kinetics’ for class XII, NCERT Book. She has authored and designed e-content on ‘Atomic Structure’ and ‘Quantum Mechanics’ for BSc (Phy Sci) I year & III year respectively in e-portal of DU under ILLL (Institute of Lifelong Learning), DU Project.

She is a Member, Indian Society of Analytical Scientist (ISAS) – Delhi Chapter since 2005.

Dr Geetika Bhalla is also Co-Principal Investigator in a Delhi University sponsored Innovation project spread over a span of one year from Aug 2015 – July 2016. Project title is “The Effects of 10GHz Microwave Radiation in Male Infertility and its Emelioration by Melatonin”.
