Enactus
Enactus, formerly known as Students in Free Enterprise, was established in 1975 as an international, non-political, non-profit organization. Its main objective is to unite students, business leaders, and academic professionals to utilize entrepreneurial action for the purpose of enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need. With a presence in over 36 countries. Enactus engages students from more than 1700 colleges worldwide. In India alone, the organization has made a significant impact, positively affecting the lives of nearly 600,000 individuals through various community outreach projects. Enactus envisions a world where young leaders everywhere use innovation and business skills to ensure that all people thrive in a sustainable world. Our mission is to create a network of leaders committed to using business as a catalyst for positive social and environmental impact. We educate, inspire, and support young people to use innovation and entrepreneurship to solve the world’s biggest problems.
Enactus Hindu College, which was founded in February 2013, consists of a dedicated team of 50+ students and one faculty advisor who embody the spirit of Enactus. Their collective efforts are focused on creating substantial societal changes by combining business acumen and philanthropy to assist those in need. Through their ingenuity and expertise, developed overtime, the students of Enactus Hindu College aim to not only provide support and knowledge to those in need but also to learn invaluable life virtues such as patience, compassion, and hard work from the individuals they serve. With the support of Enactus India and periodic business advisory from KPMG, we have undertaken 8 projects to date with 4 current projects namely- Antraat, Swabhimaan, Jeevika and Phirban.
Our projects aim to address various social issues and promote sustainable solutions. One of our initiatives, called Project Antraat, focuses on reviving local arts and handicrafts. The goal is to preserve and enhance their relevance in the modern era. By doing so, we hope to support local artisans and ensure the continuation of these traditional crafts. Another project we are involved in is called Jeevika. The primary objective of this project is to tackle the problem of inaccessibility to clean drinking water. We have developed a sustainable business model that not only provides clean drinking water but also offers an alternative source of income for the individuals in need. At Project Swabhimaan, we strongly believe that self-reliance begins with improving one’s skill set. Our project focuses on establishing a self-sustaining ecosystem within the community. By doing so, we aim to uplift the community as a whole. We recognize that empowering individuals through skill development is a crucial step towards achieving self-sufficiency and overall community development.
Project Phirban emerged as a valuable opportunity for us to make a difference as a response to the severe impact of COVID-19 on both the environment and employment within our country. We successfully transformed unused PPE scrap into sustainable multi-purpose mattresses through upcycling. This project allows us to address three significant challenges simultaneously. Firstly, it provides a source of income for our community members. Secondly, it contributes to reusing existing plastic, promoting sustainability. Finally, it offers a solution to people in need who lack comfort by providing them with these innovative mattresses. For us, at ENACTUS Hindu College, it is not only about facilitating our capabilities and knowledge to the people in need but also learning from them the virtues of life - patience, compassion, and hard work. Our 4 active projects spread across Delhi NCR to help us in this endeavor.

PROJECT ANTRAAT
Round the year, Project Antraat was involved in a wide range of activities and competitions, showcasing my entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to social impact.
We began by setting up a stall at Miranda House College, where we proudly presented the diverse products offered by Antraat. Following that, we participated in the B plan competition at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, where our team secured the first runners-up position among a strong field of 70+ teams.
Field visits played a crucial role in our journey. During a visit to Chandni Chowk, we explored a variety of raw materials, including traditional attire scraps and denim cloth. Additionally, we had the opportunity to visit Powher Charitable Trust to finalize a collaboration, paving the way for future joint efforts.
One of the highlights of the year was our participation in the Business Plan Competition, Samadhaan'22, hosted by Delhi Technological University. Out of over 300 registrations, we achieved the remarkable feat of securing the first position, earning the prestigious Award of Excellence.
Our commitment to social entrepreneurship was further recognized at the Social Entrepreneurship Exhibition, where Antraat won the esteemed People's Choice Award. We also actively supported various causes, setting up a stall at the Pride Parade in Hindu College to celebrate and promote diversity.
Expanding our outreach, we showcased our products at events like the VIPS Fest Stall and Suruchi (NSS Hindu) Stall. Additionally, we made a meaningful impact by bringing light to the homes of underprivileged beneficiaries during Diwali.
In addition to competitions and events, we engaged in field visits for ideation and product line identification. We seized opportunities like the Andhra Pradesh school principals' visit to Hindu College, where they had the chance to purchase our products.

PROJECT PHIRBAN
Project Phirban is actively engaged in various impactful activities, making a positive difference in the lives of others. One significant initiative was the Bed Sheet Donation Drive held at the Wall of Democracy in Hindu College. Here, we encouraged students to donate their old bed sheets or curtains, which we repurposed as covers for our PPE mattresses.
Another notable event was the Financial Literacy Workshop, hosted at Hindu College in collaboration with the MyLoktantra Foundation. This workshop aimed to empower blue-collar workers by providing them with essential financial knowledge and guidance.
Enactus Nationals, 2022, held in an online format, was a highly anticipated competition where our team, Enactus Hindu, showcased our remarkable project, Phirban. We submitted a comprehensive Project Report, an Annual Report, and an engaging audio-video presentation.
To strengthen our partnership with the My Loktantra Foundation, we embarked on Beneficiary Development Visits. During these visits, we familiarized ourselves with the NGO's operations and beneficiaries.
We also organized the Suruchi Stall at Hindu College, where the talented women beneficiaries of Phirban showcased their impressive mehendi skills.
In April 2023, we visited Tigri Village in Noida to meet our new beneficiaries. During this visit, we trained them to create beautiful coasters and doormats using cotton scrap, thereby empowering them with new skills and sustainable income opportunities.

PROJECT JEEVIKA
It all began with the Jalkalp Biosand Filter installation, which took place at the Police Lines. This marked the first installation in that location, providing clean water to the community.
Continuing our journey, we participated in a training session conducted by the Sehgal Foundation on the 18th of July 2022. This session served as an opportunity to enhance our knowledge and skills in water filtration techniques. Shortly after the training, we contributed to the second installation at the Police Lines on the 15th of September 2022. This initiative aimed to expand access to clean water within the community, furthering the cause of sustainable water filtration.
In the following year, we had the opportunity to install a filtration system in Peeli Building on the 12th of January 2023. This installation showcased our commitment to extending clean water solutions to various locations, improving the lives of individuals residing in Peeli Building.
Lastly, on the 15th of April 2023, we took part in the Terafil Pilot project at Azadpur. This installation was a significant step in evaluating and testing the effectiveness of Terafil filters in providing safe drinking water. The pilot project aimed to gather valuable insights for future implementations.
PROJECT SWABHIMAAN
Throughout the year, we engaged in impactful activities, starting with an online Graphic Designing Workshop for Jazbaat Foundation students. We explored design, nurturing their creativity. Next, an online CUET workshop prepared Jazbaat Foundation students for the university entrance test, enhancing their chances of higher education.
With the MASH Foundation, we conducted a Sexual and Reproductive Health Needs Workshop, empowering individuals with essential knowledge. A milestone was achieved with the signing of MoU with Pratisandhi Foundation, solidifying our knowledge partnership.
During Suruchi at Hindu College, in collaboration with Enactus Hindu, Pratisandhi Foundation showcased merchandise to spread sexual and reproductive health awareness. We announced the Pratisandhi X Project Swabhimaan, an initiative for comprehensive sex education with a vetted curriculum, shared on our project page.
Project Swabhimaan was featured at Hindu College's founder's day celebration, raising awareness about sex education. We conducted online workshops on improving interview skills and public speaking and leadership for Jazbaat Foundation students, equipping them with essential abilities.
